FIELD PROJECT MANAGER
Position Overview
The Field Project Manager is responsible for planning, preparing, and executing projects in a wide variety of areas. This is an expanded Field Technician II role, with the successful Field Project Manager expected to fully manage the projects to which S/he is assigned. S/he is expected to understand the resources allocated to the project, the importance of finishing on time and on budget, and the financial impact the project has on the business. S/he is expected to provide oversight, support, and encouragement to assigned crew members during the project. S/he is expected to manage the complexities of the project with grace and poise, and to effectively and positively manage the relationship with the customer. The Field Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the successful completion of the project, including performance measures related to finishing on time, on budget, and with customer expectations met.
Roles and Responsibilities
Field Projects
Responsible for collecting all necessary information to understand the project requirements and desired outcomes of the customer. Coordinates with administrative field support, and others, as appropriate. Writes project plan/action steps. Works with administrative field support to identify and ensure procurement of all necessary tools, materials, and products. Provides clear, concise, and effective direction to each member of the crew for maximum efficiency. Ensures the project packing is completed no later than one day before the project. Communicates with customer before, during, and at completion of project to ensure they are fully aware of progress and any changes. Completes the project in a manner consistent with our values, included but not limited to, timeliness, cleanliness, excellence, resource stewardship, and outstanding customer service. Provides receipts and information after the project in a timely manner so that effective and timely invoicing can take place.
Common and Shared Team Responsibilities
The following functions are not the primary responsibility of this role, but all team members help support these functions, as appropriate.
Cleans and organizes workshop and work sites
Cleans and sharpens tools
Records inventory of supplies
Loads and unloads vehicles and trailer in preparation for customer projects
Picks up/returns materials
Completes all required documentation
Qualifications
Professional Background
The successful candidate need not have held a specific job title in the past, but must possess a combination of knowledge, experience, skills, and education to allow the candidate to successfully complete the work included in this position. Applicable skills and experience include, but are not limited to, the following:

Working Conditions
Handyman work is physically demanding. We work 6-9 hours in the field each day completing projects, which involves standing, squatting, kneeling, leaning, ladder climbing, and other physically demanding activities. We work inside in homes that are sometimes without air conditioning. We work outside in the spring, summer, and fall. We load and unload tools and materials every day for the projects we’re completing. The successful candidate will need to be prepared to work in whatever environment the job requires. There are several exceptions, including we do not work in “Confined Spaces” as defined by OSHA and we do not work on roofs or exterior surfaces above 15 feet. There is no smoking or vaping anywhere on our customers’ properties at any time. For your safety, you must be free of the influence of all drugs and alcohol at all times while on the job.
Compensation and Benefits
The positions pay between $25.00 - $32.00/hour ($18.00 - $23.00 for an Apprentice), depending upon experience. Raises happen as crew members become more independent. Benefits include paid holidays, paid time off, a healthcare stipend, and work wear. We will sponsor crew members who want to get a builder’s license.
